MULTI-GENERATIONAL FACILITY

About the Project

This multi-generational facility will serve as a community center for the city of Bloomington. For this project, we partnered with a local expert doing research with senior citizens. In this design, it was important to focus on the life-long learning aspect of today’s senior citizens. Located just north of city hall, this facility will house multiple flexible classroom spaces, a technology lab, a larger hall for lectures or presentations, exercise facilities, as well as a cafe open to the public. The design focuses around a central “sphere” made from wooden slats.
